Addressing School Concerns

UNDERSTANDING KUMON LEVELS

Kumon uses its own level system — not grade levels — because every child starts where they are, not where they're expected to be. Here is what each level group covers:-

  • Level 6A

    Kumon Math Level 6A helps young learners recognize and recite numbers from 1 to 30. Students practice tracing and writing numbers 1 to 10 while developing fine motor skills. This level builds a strong foundation for future math concepts like addition.

    • Reciting numbers: Up to 50
    • Familiarity with numbers 1–30
    • Pencil skills and line tracing
    • Number recognition and writing practice

  • Level 5A

    Kumon Math Level 5A strengthens number recognition and writing skills for numbers 1 to 30. Students develop confidence in reading and tracing numbers through repetitive practice. This level ensures mastery of basic numeracy before progressing to arithmetic operations.

    • Reciting numbers: Up to 50
    • Number reading exercises
    • Familiarity with numbers 1–30
    • Pencil skills and line tracing development

  • Level 4A

    Kumon Math Level 4A focuses on number tracing exercises that reinforce number formation and recognition. Students practice writing numbers repeatedly to develop muscle memory and precision. This level prepares learners for the transition to basic addition.

    • Number tracing exercises
    • Number writing exercises up to 10
    • Fine motor skill development
    • Building confidence with numerals

  • Level 3A

    Kumon Math Level 3A introduces basic addition concepts using numbers up to 10. Students learn to add through visual representations and simple equations. This level marks the beginning of computational math skills that form the foundation for all future arithmetic.

    • Numbers up to 100: Parts 1–6
    • Introduction to addition
    • Adding single-digit numbers
    • Building arithmetic confidence

  • Level 2A

    Kumon Math Level 2A develops addition skills with numbers up to 10. Students practice various addition combinations to build fluency and speed. This level strengthens mental calculation abilities and prepares learners for more complex addition with larger numbers.

    • Adding 4: Parts 1 & 2
    • Adding 5: Parts 1 & 2
    • Adding 6 and 7: Multiple parts
    • Adding 8, 9, and 10: Parts 1–3
